Mrs. Sparkman, will serve as the Interim Principal of Young Women’s College Prep (YWCP) and is a dedicated leader with extensive experience in student success, school operations, and college access. Mrs. Sparkman brings more than thirty years of educational experience as a teacher, an administrator, and a college professor. She has served YWCP for many years and is deeply connected to the YWCP community, by having served on the Board of Trustees as Co-Chair of the YWCP Education Committee and Chair of the Parent Engagement Committee.
Her proven commitment to the school, its students, and its families makes her a thoughtful, student-centered leader prepared to guide YWCP with care and purpose. Most importantly, these experiences allow her to bring a strong combination of instructional and visionary leadership, governance experience, and operational insight for a bright promising future for the students, their families and the Rochester community.
She tries to live by her life-long motto, “Make Excellence a Habit,” in both her personal and professional life. In her free time, Mrs. Sparkman enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking healthy meals, and visiting new restaurants around town.
