Class of 2020 Graduation Info!

Virtual: June 26th, 7 p.m, Diploma Presentation: June 27th, 2 p.m

Dear Class of 2020 Students & Families,

I hope this finds each of you safe and healthy. With the new guidelines provided by the Governor, we are able to hold a commencement ceremony with 150 people or less. We have put together a two-part event to wrap up our celebrations for the class of 2020.

You are cordially invited to YWCP’s Class of 2020 Two-Part Graduation Event!

Part 1: YWCP Class of 2020 Virtual Graduation​ will be held on​ June 26th at 7:00 PM.​ This virtual ceremony will include:

  • Principal’s Welcome and Address
  • Faculty Speaker
  • Senior Class Speaker
  • YWCP 2020 Woman of Distinction Speaker
  • A video montage of the Class of 2020 through the years
  • Every senior’s photo will be displayed along with a graduation message.

The virtual ceremony will be viewable to parents/guardians, students, and community members through a variety of social media outlets that include Zoom, Young Women’s College Prep Charter School of Rochester ​Facebook live, ywcp_rochester Instagram live, and an active and ongoing link will be posted on our school ​website.

The links will be available on all social media outlets beginning June 26th.

 

Part 2 : Presentation of Diplomas Ceremony​ held at YWCP (133 Hoover Drive) on​ June 27th at 2:00 PM.*​(Number of guests must be limited)*​

This in-person diploma ceremony will include:

  • Processional
  • Principal’s Welcome Address
  • Presentation of Diplomas for the Class of 2020
  • Closing Remarks

 

While on campus on June 27th, it is extremely important that we abide by the Governor’s social distancing orders. For that reason, please adhere to the following safety guidelines.

**More information regarding the specifics of our in-person Presentation of Diplomas ​on June 27th will be forthcoming.**

  • Park in the lower lot entrance on Hoover Drive
  • Masks are required at all times
  • Use hand sanitizer
  • Social distance at all times at a minimum of 6’
  • Follow all campus directions and protocols

 

Additional Information:

Yearbooks​: There are still a limited number of yearbooks left to purchase! Make sure your senior captures this historic year in her very own yearbook. Yearbooks can be purchased online at​ j​ostensyearbooks.com​. They cost $37 plus tax, and will be available until we sell out. Any questions can be directed to Ms. Craig at ​scraig@youngwomenscollegeprep.org

Chromebooks:​ Each senior received a Chromebook during our initial closure. We are happy to announce that as our gift to you, these Chromebooks are yours to keep! More information will be coming soon about how school access restrictions can be removed, so you can use the Chromebooks freely!

Important Notice for YWCP Families:Asynchronous Learning 9/27 - 9/30

Greetings YWCP Parents and Guardians,

This message is to notify you that in accordance with New York State Education Department guidelines regarding health and safety, and to ensure there is no lapse in instruction, we must implement asynchronous learning for the remainder of the week.  This means that students will learn and complete assignments at their own pace remotely.

Students will NOT be attending in-person learning tomorrow, Tuesday, September 27th through this Friday, September 30th. Please have your YWCP student check their school email and our YWCP website for more information.

Students are NOT to report to school and ARE expected to:

  • Login to Google Classroom starting Tuesday for each class and complete all work.  Assignments will be posted daily.
  • Email teachers with any questions or concerns.
  • Check Google Classroom daily.

Please be reminded that students should check their email for more information from their teachers.

We will continue our normal in-person learning on Monday, October 3rd. Thank you for your continued support.  Stay safe and healthy.
