The Young Women’s College Prep Foundation funds technological needs and programs providing ACCESS, EQUALITY & OPPORTUNITY to underserved girls affected by poverty in Rochester.  Funding disparities for primarily non-white city students are a nationwide issue. The YWCP Foundation’s support combined with YWCP’s rigorous, all-girls, college-preparatory curriculum empowers young women to break the cycle of poverty through the life-changing power of education.

The YWCP Foundation supports these students by creating, implementing and supporting innovative programs designed to increase college readiness and access, career awareness, and leadership skills.

Gifts to the YWCP Foundation provide support for:

  • Educational Technology Needs: asynchronous educational software, Chromebooks, access to wifi
  • College Awareness: college campus visits; attending college fairs; workshops for college interviewing, essay & resume writing; professional attire with Senior blazers and ties
  • Career Exploration: Cool Women/Hot Jobs, tours of local businesses,
  • Leadership Opportunities: scholarships to college-sponsored academic programs, Student Ambassador program
  • Summer camp scholarships
  • Alumnae Success Program providing resources and support to YWCP graduates
